- Cyclopiazonic acid (CPA) is a nanomolar SERCA inhibitor, effective in inducing plant cell death; suspected of causing kodua poisoning in humans from consuming moldy kodo millet; produced by Aspergillus and Penicillium species in moldy millet or groundnut meal, and some Penicillium camemberti strains for gourmet cheese.
